Notice of the Annual Parochial Church Meeting

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting took place on Tuesday 22nd April and the newly elected members are listed below.

What does the Parochial Church Council (PCC) do?

The PCC will ensure that all we do helps us in the work of
JOINING TOGETHER IN THE TRANSFORMING MISSION OF GOD
1. Ensuring that all we do helps us in the task of Joining Together in
the Transforming Mission of God.
2. Developing and sustaining the parish vision and the parish plan
3. Developing any necessary and any useful parochial policies
4. Guiding and caring for the whole Church community and for all our
members
5. Taking care of and giving direction to PCC committees and their
chairs
6. Ensuring that in all our work we are paying attention to
Mission, Evangelism and Ecumenism,
as a part of our Diocese and of our Deanery

7. Caring for the Sunday and weekday experience at All Hallows
8. Planning the annual calendar for the parish
9. Taking on the oversight of parish events through the year
10 Ensuring efficient and effective communications within the Church community and out into the world about us
GETTING TO WORK WITH THE COMMITTEES SERVING OUR PARISH
The PCC directs the whole work of the parish. The members of
the PCC are elected by the whole parish.
The PCC directs the work of all of our other committees.
We shall now have these committees:
  • The Living Worship Committee
  • The Growing Disciples Committee
  • The Seeking Justice Committee
  • The Pastoral Care and Bereavement Care Committee
  • The Finance Committee
  • The Church Building Committee
THE PCC WILL DIRECT THE WORK OF THE ALL HALLOWS FELLOWSHIP
It will seek to give direction and leadership and inspiration to
  • 1. The members of the parish church community
  • 2. All parish committees
  • 3. Ministers, lay and ordained and the meetings of ministers
  • 4. Churchwardens
  • 5. The parish administrator
  • 6. The PCC secretary
  • 7. The PCC treasurer
  • 8. The Rector

The PCC October 2013 – September 2014
The PCC is working towards a Parish Plan for the next 12-18 months focusing on establishing a new programme for Baptism families and wedding preparation for couples who wish to marry in All Hallows Church. To work with our Junior Church and draw in new members making use of our present and developing school contacts. To establish a Young Hallows Club and deepen our welcoming of new members.

Each of these committees has its own proper work.
Each committee will have a chairperson,
Each committee should normally have at least 3 members of the
PCC and 3 members not drawn from the PCC
Each committee is asked to meet at least 3 times a year
Each committee is asked to make a report of its work to the PCC,
if possible, 3 times a year.
Each committee is asked to offer advice and guidance to the PCC
The members of each committee may also choose to undertake
some of the tasks which are given to the committee.
