The befriending scheme is operated by fully trained and safeguarded Christian volunteers. It is open to anyone who would benefit from support both within and beyond the immediate church community.
You may know of an isolated or lonely person either directly or through word of mouth who might appreciate support?Please mention the befriending scheme to family, friends and neighbours.

The Ark - Wollaton Ave Gedling, latest update and Annual Report
The Ark 12 Wollaton Avenue, Gedling, Nottingham, NG4 4HX (Get directions) Tel: 0115 8599556 The Ark is the community café, meeting place and advice and information centre that is run by the Phoenix Farm Open Door Project, an independent charity. It was established by Phoenix Farm Methodist Church working with All Hallows, Westdale Lane Baptists, St James, and Gedling Road Methodists. Churches Working Together for Gedling The Ark provides friendship, a warm welcome and a place to belong. It can also help with advice on benefits, housing, debts, money management and general life skills. We also provide basic computer training and help with family history research. We are always open to providing new services where we can see a need. The Ark is open Mondays1.30 - 4.00pm Tuesdays to Fridays 10am to 3pm. Please call in and see us at any of these times or ring us for more information. We are a specifically Christian charity and believe that we should serve our community out of Christian love, by seeking and meeting the needs in our community. Apart from our manager, we are run entirely by volunteers, some of which are members of our church. |

You may want to contact the Furniture Re-use Network (FRN) and see if they can be given a new lease of life on 0845 602 8003 or www.frn.org.uk After being given a new lease of life your donated items are supplied to low income families. FRN diverts 90,000 tonnes of waste from landfill a year. |
